Three of the Best Yoga Pants And When To Use Them

After a few visits to Omni Yoga, you’ll see that there are so many different types of yoga that you can practice. With that comes a fun problem to have: what do you wear? Often times, the type of yoga you practice will influence what type of yoga pants you wear.

Today, we’ll go over three popular types of yoga pants and what they’re best suited for:

  •  Shorts: Yoga shorts, especially made from moisture wicking material, are great because they are lightweight and not very restrictive at all. For Bikram yoga, shorts are an ideal choice, since you want as little on you as possible so the heat can do its job. While we don’t offer Bikram yoga at Omni Yoga, shorts are a preferred choice for some people, especially during the summer months.

  • Crop: For more active types of yoga and positions where you need to rely on your legs and the back of your knees, cropped pants may be the way to go. Since they are form-fitting, they’ll help streamline your movements, while the shortened length will help you have more traction with your body.

  • Long and Loose: Well, maybe we should say long or long and loose. You know the type...the ones that have jumped out of the yoga studio and into everyday wear for a lot of people. And there’s a good reason. They’re so comfortable and flexible! Whether you choose form-fitting long yoga pants, the flared type, or go for harem pants, you are ready for movement. These are a good all-around choice for many of our classes and one of our preferred styles to wear.

Of course, at the core of yoga is to be true to yourself, and listen to your body, so whatever type you prefer is what we want you to wear. As you grow deeper in yoga, you’ll start to learn what feels best for your yoga choices. Not sure what class to try? Check out our class schedule and let us help you get started.
