Sanskrit 101: A Brief Overview of the Language of Yoga

Have you heard the commonly used yoga words "namaste", "savasana", or "om" and are curious about their origin and meanings? Does your yoga teacher use Sanskrit pose names in class, such as "chaturanga dandasana", and you want to know more? Join Vicki Sanford, RYT500, founder of Omni Yoga, for an overview of the history of Sanskrit and a review of many of the more frequently used Sanskrit words and phrases.

This 45 minute session is just $10 and is a wonderful way to spend your lunch break. You can pack a lunch from home or pick something up from one of the several great restaurants around us such as Cilantro, Wasabi, MacGregor Draft House, Subway, Tony's Oyster Bar or Bellini's Italian to enjoy while learning more about Sanskrit. We will provide hot tea and cookies!
